Virtual Reality, immersive environments and interactive installations

What is Virtual Reality? virtual reality is something that provide a realistic simulation of an environment, including three-dimensional graphics, by a computer system using interactive software and hardware.  With a computer, virtual reality is experienced through two of the five senses through sight and sound.

The easiest way to tell a virtual reality is through 3-D, an image that can be explored throughout, means you can view it in 360 degrees by using the computer with the scroll of the mouse and then the direction of the images will moves with the direction that you drag. What makes it more realistic is the one devices that be able to let you wear and it will be able to let you feel the display images. A very good example of Virtual reality product is the latest product that we can see and promote by the Microsoft, that is the Microsoft HoloLens. Microsoft HoloLens is the first fully untethered, see-through holographic computer. It enables high-definition holograms to come to life in your world, seamlessly integrating with your physical places, spaces, and things. We call this experience mixed reality. Holograms mixed with your real world will unlock all-new ways to create, communicate, work, and play.

Microsoft HoloLens don’t really produce actual 3D iamges that everyone can see, we are not yet reach that kind of technology. Not like the technology we see in the movie, it’s shows images that only the wearer of the hololens can only see. It’s quite the size for a normal goggle. Microsoft Hololens can be also use for personal use or at a workplace it is convenient for a person who always depends on now days tech. Microsoft is not trying to bring the user of it into another world, but rather bring the wonders of a computer directly to the one you’re living in. Example like bringing the most popular game minecraft into your living room on the wall. What’s makes it convenient for the working place is that they can use it for communicate with each others with the images that project through their lens. With the use of the Hololens it is very to understand what are the others are trying to tells with the projection that is provided by the hololens when it’s actually connected to the internet, with this it enable to search through the net to look for the specific thing or what you have store on the storage to show it to the client itself or your working colleauge.

For me i think that Virtual reality is quite the technology that can help us to involve or get a better future in the coming days. But the requirement to actually made one of the hololens is quite costing. With the hardware and software that is needed in one technology, I think the amount of expenses is going to be high, at the end it’s not really affordable for everyone in the community or the society. Microsoft should think of a way that can reduce this to the minimum so that most of the people will be able to experience the Virtual reality. Virtual reality is actually a big thing in the coming future, so i hope that the hardware and the software will be a bit more affordable for everyone. and i hope that in the future more company will concentrate to develop a more consistent devices that can make the hololens a bit easier to carry around and lighter,smaller.

Body and Identity, the development of telepresence and tele-robotics

Telepresence is a technologies which allow a person to feel that they were on the spot or you can say present on that current spot, either to give appearance of being present on the spot.  it’s create a visual and audio for the person to feel their presence. All of this need the combines of video, audio, software and hardware. The telepresence provide an experience which will be able to bring to anywhere with the presence of someone that you wanted it to be there, just like from Office to home and another country to another country. a very good example for Telepresence is Skype is a telecommunication application software that provides video chat and voice calls from all kind of devices including Computers, tablet, and mobile devices using internet to other devices or smartphones.

Skype contain all of the normal telco application, like Voice call and video call and also contain texting. Because of the international call that charge a lot of money people started to use skype as a tools to reach them without cost them any money, what they need is just a devices that was able to connect to Wireless connection either networking with the capability to install skype in that devices. For my own opinion I think that skype is a great Apps, it’s not just time saving and save money, it allowed users to communicate without any charges. Beside that this application allowed Business man to do their business through it. With the Video call they are able to communicate with multiple client at once, this makes things more easy for their client who are from overseas.

Telerobotics, a term for the remote control of a robot.In a telerobotic system, a human operator controls the movements of a robots from some distance away. Signals are sent to the robot to control it; other signals come back, telling the operator that the robot has followed the instructions. A very good example of Telerobotic is Drones.

A drone, a technological context, an unmanned aircraft, Drones are more know as unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV). A drone is a flying robot, a small flying aircraft that can be remotely controlled or fly autonomously through software. The most often used of this technology is in military, they are used to rescue and search, surveillance, traffic monitoring, weather monitoring and fire fighting. Besides the military use drones now days are popular among all kind of field, example like filming fields, they use the drones to catch some scene that are quite impossible for human to do, this method not just save time but also save human power, and it’s very safe to use. It can also help reduce accident while shooting for a dangerous scene.Besides drones there are some telerobotics are quite popular in medical fields. What they have is a robotic surgery arms to help the doctors to do the surgery. What they can archive is to do complicated surgery through a computer screen. With the stable of the robotic arms, the surgery can be done without any concern and very safe. With this kind of technology I think is a pleasure for our lifestyle. We can just count on those telerobotics when we have a very difficult situation.

Mapping and database visualization, database aesthetics; Organic Information Design.

Mapping, Creation of maps. A graphic Symbolic representation of the significant features of a part of the surface Earth.

Technology can be used to create an informative and adaptable map products. Quality graphics and maps are a key component of many planning application and are very important when it comes to involving the community and public. When public views an application, they might not be able to understand what the application try to project. Therefore plans and drawings are a valuable communicate tools within the realm of the planning process.

For a Skilled map designer they are being able to create a drawings and plans that can clearly reflect what they are trying to present and show. And when the graphic is clear, question are more easily answered.

So for mapping I think it is a very important source for now day communities. It can make people easier to recognize the content.

Waze, A GPS based geographical navigation application program for smartphones with GPS support and display screeens which provides turn by turn information and get updated my user submitted travel times and routes details. The location is downloaded base on the information and details from the mobile networks. Waze was Develop in Israel,and acquired by Google in 2013.

Waze is very useful for nowdays apps, it’s rich and constantly updating database of information. it’s million of users who are actively and passively contributing countless data points altogehter create accurate maps, not only that you can also mark an issues on the maps so that you can let others Waze users know what is actually happening on that spot. With this others user can be aware of the traffic ahead of them and being able to avoid the traffic jam.

For me this apps is very useful for travelers to use for traveling around the world. Or you can just use it to travel to others town that you haven’t been before. It is a very convenient apps that will makes your day easier. Once you select your location it will choose the closes way to get there, and also avoiding all the traffic jam on the way.

As you drive along, Waze will periodically notify you via pop-ups of incidents on the road ahead within a preset radius or along your chosen route if a destination has been set. Slow traffic, incidents and accidents, and police presence and speed cameras are among the possible triggers for notifications. That Waze will provide these notifications even if you do not have a destination chosen adds incentive to always have the app running when behind the wheel and on the road; of course, you’ll also be doing your part to improve the map and traffic data available to the whole Waze community by doing so.

Data Visualization

Visualization assist people to see things that are not that obvious to them before. Data visualization presents the data in a way that the  director can easily interpet, it’s time saving and didn’t consume any energy at all. What makes data visualization important because it’s identify areas that need attention or improvement and also understand what factors influence your project behaviour.

Digital Drawing

Back to when i’m just a kid, I like to draw everything I saw in the TV especially Cartoon, like Digimon and Pokemon. Both of this show was my favorite Show back then.

I use to draw and keep it and show it to my parents, but as times pass by i start to become lazy to draw, as the preparation for drawing is time consuming and troublesome. When i’m in primary school I became more and more lazier to draw, So my production of my own drawing begin to became very less.

After I went into secondary school, i stop at once my drawing hobby. Because of the laziness and time consuming problem.

After i finish my secondary school I went into college to study Multimedia Design. A Course that offer Design,Animation and Drawing. Which is very attractive for me. Because of the technology and equipment that they use on the classes amaze me.

Wacom that is use for Digital Drawing

The technology and software became very convenient for me, i don’t need to do any preparation before i start any drawing, in the software itself contain all kind of brush and pen, and million color of choices. The Wacom itself makes the whole thing become more easier, I can directly just draw it on top of the tablet.

Following here is my drawing that i produce with Both Wacom and photoshop. It is really convenient for me who already almost gave up in drawing. for conclusion i think both software and hardware are a great invention. It’s convenient and save time.
